International Protection Ratings IP Ratings or International Protection Code is a standard rating system that indicates the type of environments in which a particular instrument is capable of operating. The IP Rating takes the form of IPXX where XX are numbers corresponding to a particular rating. The first digit is for solid particle ingress, and the second is for liquids ingress,
