BuildHealth NI unveils its calendar of events for 2025 Construction industry health and safety initiative BuildHealth NI has announced its calendar of events for 2025 including quarterly meetings and the annual conference.

Translink Infrastructure and Projects SHE Manager Wendy Moore has been elected to a two-year post as chair of the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG) at its AGM in January. Wendy achieved a first- class honours degree in Civil Engineering from Ulster University and holds a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. With 16 years’ experience in construction, she has served on the NISG Executive Committee for 10 years, including heading up its Farming Sub Committee, and sits on the Institution of Civil Engineers (NI) Health, Safety & Welfare Special Interest Group. The NISG January Meeting also included a legal update from Carson McDowell Senior Associate Judith Rountree and Solicitor Eilis Maguire, who covered a recap of health and safety law enforcement in 2024. Also covered were common themes emerging from recent prosecutions, a civil claims update and anticipated legal changes for employers managing health and safety in 2025.

QUARTERLY STEERING GROUP MEETINGS

Quarterly steering group meetings offer attendees the opportunity to hear short presentations on relevant occupational health issues affecting both principal contractors and sub-contractors and participate in a discussion forum to debate best practice. The meetings are held from 9.30am to 11.30am at CITBNI, Nutts Corner Training Centre, 17 Dundrod Road, Crumlin BT29 4SR, and dates for this year’s meetings include:
