DAL spotlight March Edition

Roy Medina Internal growth, hard work and desire to learn created the foundation on his time with Averitt. He started as a PT dock associate then expressed his willingness to learn billing. Once he conquered that knowledge, he was able to secure the Operations Support role. He says, “never turn down an opportunity because you never know where it will lead you.” He previously spent time working with FedEx but chose Averitt due to internal growth and our culture. Outside of work he likes to work out and play video games.

Ricardo Cobio-Trevino Here at Averitt, we love it when our associates are with us long term, and he fits in that category. “We hire to retire” and as a 22yr associate, that is his goal within the next 4 years. His leaders say, “He is an ideal associate, always on time and willing to help out wherever needed.” He is married to his wife Maria and they have 3 kids and 3 grandkids. He enjoys playing pool and spending time with his family. KPI Spotlight Drivers with best efficiency & yard time: Adolphus Green- .13 Uriel Garcia- .21 Francisco Salazar- .34 Terry Kendig- .37

He will continue to work hard so that he can obtain his CDL and become a driver with Averitt full time. He has 4 children, Aaliyah, Edward, Genesis and Baby Isela. He has been with us a little over 3 years but there’s no doubt that he will continue to accomplish great things. Outside of work he enjoys movies, watching soccer and watching boxing.

Royshawn Teasley His energy and professionalism is contagious and his mind set of, “If there’s a will, there is a way” is an inspiration even to his leaders. He started with Averitt at the Petco account in Atlanta but has been in DAL since 2022. He goes above and beyond to ensure that our customers are taken care of, even with the complexity of his Gainesville route. He is happily married and has 4 children and 4 granddaughters which are the loves of his life. His goal is to be an operations manager so that he can contribute to the success of Averitt, but also give others an opportunity to join the company.

How Averitt Is Driving Efficiency For Cross-Border Automotive Supply Chains The automotive industry relies on seamless logistics to keep production lines running smoothly. For one major automotive manufacturer, managing freight from over 30 vendors in Mexico to a production facility in Alabama presented significant challenges. With diverse brokers, inconsistent processes, and the need for speed, they sought a partner who could provide an innovative solution. Averitt delivered with a cross-dock operation at its Laredo Distribution and Fulfillment Center, accelerating their supply chain efficiency. THE CHALLENGE The manufacturer faced several logistics hurdles: • Complex Vendor Network: Over 30 vendors in Mexico, each using different customs brokers, resulted in dispersed freight across Laredo. • Tight Production Timelines: Delays in consolidating shipments threatened the smooth operation of the Alabama production line. • Costly Warehousing: The existing model relied on a warehouse for consolidation, adding time and expense. Meanwhile, the growing trend of nearshoring to Mexico is making it even more critical for manufacturers to rethink their cross-border supply chains. As more suppliers establish operations in Mexico, ensuring resiliency and maintaining the smooth flow of materials to production lines has become paramount. THE SOLUTION Averitt introduced a streamlined cross-dock model tailored to the automotive manufacturer’s needs: • Comprehensive Local Pickup: Leveraging its robust infrastructure as one of the nation’s largest LTL carriers and its asset-based fleet, Averitt utilized its P&D drivers to collect shipments daily from various brokers in Laredo. This ensured reliable pickups across the city’s logistics network. • Seamless Consolidation: Freight was brought to Averitt’s cross-dock facility, where it was scanned using Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) and consolidated into dedicated truckloads for nightly delivery to Alabama. • Returnable Packaging Management: Empty bins and packaging were returned through the same process, ensuring an efficient circular supply chain. This innovative solution eliminated the need for warehousing, reducing costs and speeding up delivery times.
