Celebrating the Howard Orthotics and Prosthetics Way Highlights from the Past Year (And What We’re Excited for in 2025)

It’s almost time to ring in the new year — but we want to take a moment to reflect on the past twelve months to celebrate and reminisce about 2024. Some things never change — like our dedication to providing high-quality custom orthoses and prostheses to the Canton community. However, this year, we did shake things up a bit by expanding our services, switching up our processes, and welcoming some future healthcare providers to the fold. Join us as we look back at 2024 — and start thinking about all we can accomplish in 2025! Our 2024 Year-in-Review We Updated Our Phone System One small change we’re excited about is our updated phone system, which makes it much easier for patients to schedule appointments and speak with our staff. We’ve heard from several of you that you appreciate this new and improved system, and we’re thrilled it helps us serve you better!
We Expanded Our Services After eight years of servicing the Canton area, we began working with several local hospitals and nursing homes, making it easier for their residents to receive the prosthetic and orthotic devices they need. We’re proud to be working with the following organizations in 2025 and beyond: • Carthage Hospital • Claxton Hepburn Hospital • Clifton-Fine Hospital • Samaritan Summit Village • United Helpers Canton
We Mentored the Next Generation of PTs and CPOs This year, we offered shadowing opportunities for both local high school students and physical therapy students, giving them the chance to learn the ins and outs of crafting customized orthoses and prostheses in a real-world setting. We can’t wait to see what they do next! We Shared Our Knowledge and Expertise with the World
In May, our CPO Sara Remley attended the New York AAOP Conference, an annual gathering of certified prosthetists and orthotists from all over the state. There, she learned more about what’s happening in our field so she could bring that expertise back to Canton. And did we mention that Sara will continue to serve on AAOP’s board of directors in 2025?
