People had a great deal of respect for Mary, and she excelled at getting things done. Mary later went on to form the Fire Department Safety O cers Association (FDSOA), where she served as Executive Director for many years. She had a passion for all things related to fi re fi ghter safety and committed herself to making career and volunteer fi re fi ghters safer and more e ective in the performance of their duties. Like I said before, she knew how to get things done and was able to connect other fi re service leaders to her priorities. Mary’s legacy and contributions remain present within the FDIC – ISFSI – CFSI – FDSOA - and others.
