Espoo, Finland based Metsä Board Corporation an- nounced that it has appointed Metsä Group’s EVP, Strate- gy, Esa Kaikkonen, as the new CEO of the company as of 7 April 2025 following CEO Mika Joukio’s decision to step

down from his CEO position. Joukio will continue with Metsä Board un- til October 2025 and support Kaik- konen during the transition. “Mika Joukio has had a long and successful career in Metsä Board’s paperboard business,” said Ilkka Hämälä, Chair of the Board of Direc- tors. “His career began 35 years ago
