Because we believe to be successful, you’ve got to have people that are from the area, connected to the community. It seems foolish to acquire a company that employs sharp, well-educated, hard-working people and then displace them.” Welch takes an organic approach to acquisitions. The move needs to be the right fit for the general health of the company, its mission, and most importantly, for the em- ployees who are affected.
