Terms & Conditions Volume Discounts: We give volume discounts starting at $50/bull with multiple purchases. These vary depending on delivery/ feeding arrangements and number of bulls purchased. Our online sale begins Friday, Feb. 6, 2026 at 8 a.m. CST Our online sale closes Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. CST
Development: Our calves are born on grass in late May/June. They’re weaned late December and just get free choice hay and mineral the first winter. As yearlings, the bulls go to stock piled grass in April and graze native range until late October. The first 45 days that they’re home they get 10 lbs of a grain mix with corn, dry distillers, and wheat midds, in addition to tame grass hay. From that point until they’re delivered they get 100% forage again, usually a mix of alfalfa and tame grass hay with a mineral supplement. 4 Year Warranty: We will be starting a four-year, pro-rated warranty. This means that if the bull’s fertility, soundness, or disposition render him unusable, we’ll refund the difference of purchase price and salvage value based on years of use. No use would be 100% whole, one year of use would be a 75% refund, two years use at 50%, and three years use at 25%. The bulls should last more than four breeding seasons but at that point your investment should be recouped. Exceptions to this warranty would be penile injuries resulting from breeding, incidental injuries and deaths (i.e. lightning or slips on ice), frost bitten scrotums, and any other issues related to post sale care of the bulls. This is intended to cover scenarios that result in loss of use in otherwise healthy, well cared for bulls, not acts of God or poor animal husbandry. If your bull doesn’t pass a breeding soundness exam, is not structurally sound enough to cover cows, can’t maintain condition when his herd-mates can, or is dangerous for you and your family to handle, please call us. We do our best to weed out issues beforehand but problems can surface later.
Viewing of Bulls: You are welcome to come inspect the cattle anytime, 2 miles east and 1 mile north of Berthold. We do not live on that yard and would love to visit with you and answer questions. Because of this, we would appreciate a call beforehand. We will have food and refreshments on-hand February 7th and 8th. We assume no liability for any injuries/incidents on the premises and prospective buyers will be there at their own risk. Terms of Sale: We retain ½ semen interest in every bull sold and the right to collect semen for our own use at buyer’s convenience and our expense. The bulls will be auctioned via a timed “horse race” style auction with DVAcution. Each bull will have a starting price. The auction will have a closing time. If there is a bid within five minutes of close, the auction extends five minutes. This will continue until there are no more bids. This gives buyers a chance to move down their preferred list if needed and bidders are notified when they are outbid. At the conclusion of the auction, the bull becomes the liability of the buyer. We take excellent care of the bulls that are not delivered or taken home immediately, but they are older bulls and they do fight/ride much more than yearlings. We recommend taking insurance on your property the day of sale and will have a person available to help with that if necessary.
Delivery: We coordinate deliveries as soon as we can at the buyer’s convenience. Feeding and delayed delivery can be worked out if needed but our preference is get them to you within two weeks of sale. Most of our customers put them with older bulls on just hay until it’s time to work. Free delivery within North Dakota, out of state deliveries will be taken case by case with buyer’s convenience and cost in mind. Color and Horned/Polled: Bulls marked BB are homozygous black and will not throw red calves. BH bulls are heterozygous black and will throw the occasional red calf on black cows and roughly 50/50 on red cows. Bulls marked R are red and were tested non-diluters. PP bulls were verified homozygous polled and will not throw horned calves. We test everything with a known horned gene in the pedigree so bulls marked P are polled and should also be homozygous polled but were not DNA verified.
