Steps to Literacy® is a family founded company comprised of a team of people who are passionate about books and dedicated to literacy . We care deeply about the impact our book selections and classroom library materials have on schools, teachers, and students. Our Mission is to partner with educators to ignite a passion for reading. In keeping with that mission: our team of Content Specialists are all former educators. The Content Team uses their expertise to create libraries and custom book bundles based on curriculum, genre, standards, and dozens of other customizable options. Our collective vision is to provide accessible and exciting books to children so they can explore the world, cultures and themselves through reading. We work with more than 200 publishers to ensure each collection is filled with high-interest and recently released titles that will encourage curiosity and a desire to read in every student. At Steps to Literacy our goal is to help cultivate a student’s love for reading. Teachers utilize independent reading strategies to encourage a student’s curiosity and to scaffold them to new reading abilities. Our Language Arts collections are curated to showcase new, exciting, and multicultural books with interesting stories and powerful visuals. We encourage all students have a voice and a choice in the books that they read. Our libraries and collections are built to entice students to learn more about themselves and the world they live in. We have a variety of K-5 collections for students to choose from when it comes to independent reading including — Biographies, Mysteries, Poetry, Popular Series, and more! Each collection is carefully curated by our certified educators. Steps To Literacy® proudly works side by side with our parent company S&S Worldwide® . Founded in 1906 with over 110 years of experience, they are committed to the well-being of children in schools and youth programs throughout the country. Together, we deliver streamlined literacy solutions elevated by high-impact, hands-on learning tools—built to help every student thrive.

Specifically, our custom book collections are not sold or distributed to any other entity and are developed by our own certified educator staff. Intellectual Property, copyright law and ownership of officially registered ISBN(s) with Bowker/Books in Print (the international clearing house for ISBN numbers) confirms Steps To Literacy’s offering meets necessary requirements of sole source designation. Our certified educators hand review titles and curate our collections to educational requirements. Only the best books are chosen from over 200 publishers (English and Spanish) and arranged into shelf-ready sets appropriate for each grade reflecting a variety of literacy frameworks and content area focuses. We bell curve our collections to make reading fun and accessible for all grades and varying student reading needs. We are also the sole source for our Exclusive products such as Pack-N-Reads, Book Bins, Fiction and Nonfiction Journals, Desktop Word Walls, Teaching Charts & Cards, and more. We manufacture and customize these exclusive products to meet the needs of today’s students and teachers. Any custom curation requests through Steps To Literacy are hand built by our content specialists/certified educators and are considered sole source.
