YOUTH Family Hike with a Naturalist • AGES 3 AND UP

Join a naturalist on an early morning hike to learn about the animals and plants that call Knoch Knolls Park home. The route is mostly over grassy or gravel paths. For up to four family members. Please register only one member of your family. No pets please. Bring a water bottle and wear sturdy walking shoes. Meets on the nature center deck. (ah) CODE DATE DAY TIME R/N Knoch Knolls Nature Center Deck • 320 Knoch Knolls Rd. 93829 Aug 17 Sa 10:00-11:30 am $10/$15 Fishin’ Kids • AGES 5-11 REGISTRATION IN PROGRESS Learn all the basics of fishing including how to rig a pole, bait the hook, cast and handle fish. Parent must remain with their child(ren) during the class. Bring folding lawn chairs. All fishing poles, bait and tackle are provided. We’ll be fishing rain or shine (but not if it’s thundering - check our Rainout Line), so please dress for the weather. Fishing takes place at May Watts Park’s pond and meets at entrance on Oakton Lane. Price is per child; at least one adult must attend with each family. Kits include all of the special supplies you need to create these fun take-home projects! Extra craft materials are available for an extra fee. An email confirmation will be sent when your kit is ready to pick up. Pick up your kit inside the nature center. FUN WITH FAIRIES KIT: Folklore about fairies, gnomes and elves has been shared throughout the ages and was often used to explain natural phenomena. Use our Fun with Fairies Nature Discovery Kit for a whimsical look at nature. Designed for ages 4-10. Take home kit includes: Background information sheet, fairy book list, coloring/ activity sheet, supplies/instructions for four different crafts (fairy, fairy house cutout, fairy antennae and a nature cuff) plus a magical friends matching game. Four additional crafts available for an extra fee. Items not included: markers, packing tape. Please wait until you are contacted to pick up your kit. (ah) CODE DATE R/N 93835 Jun 1-Aug 28 $17/$24 ADULT Adult Hike with a Naturalist • AGES 18 AND UP Join a naturalist on a morning hike to learn about the natural history of Knoch Knolls Park along the way. The route is over mostly grassy or gravel paths. Bring a water bottle and wear sturdy walking shoes. Meets on the nature center deck. Or just want to see what is going on in this Park District location? Late summer is the best time to visit the plots, view all the growing vegetables and flowers and learn more about the program.
