Raeco Lookbook v3.0

KELMSCOT T L I BRARY, WA

The project outline The Kelmscott Library had moved from their previous location on a busy street, back 50m into the local shopping centre. The foot traffic had increased through the move into the shopping centre, however they had a smaller space to work with. MKTD Design Group was engaged to create a boutique, cutting edge library.

outcome

Raeco used wedges instead of aisles to break up the collection of shelving. This was done so patrons could move through and engage with the destination. The library finds customers discover more when they have to walk through the different zones within the library. Hidden areas for customers to discover were created within the dynamic spaces, for example, there is a hidden coffee station. Wooden par titions were included to create private zones, which people can use as a quiet, isolated area. Kelmscott Library is really happy with the final result, and feel they have created a ‘wow’ factor.
