Este año se convocó a alumnos de Arquitectura de todo el país a diseñar un conjunto habitacional de densidad media capaz de "construir barrio". El equipo ganador pertenece a la Universidad de Chile.
Architecture students from across the country were invited this year to design a medium-density housing complex capable of “building neighborhood”. The winning team belongs to Universidad de Chile.
El conjunto, construido en madera, debía acoger entre 150 y 400 habitantes por ha con propuestas de edificación continua tipo town houses , pareadas o aisladas y con superficies de 50 m² a 140 m², según lo apropiado al lugar escogido. El jurado, presidido por el arquitecto Martín Hurtado, estuvo integrado por los premios nacionales de arquitectura Antonia Lehmann y Juan Sabbagh, Francisco Vivanco Arquitecto (AOA); Sebastián Araya (Minvu); Alberto Mozó (arquitecto especialista en uso de madera) y Enzo Valladares (ingeniero estructural). En su decisión consideraron aspectos tales como la integración de la comunidad, creación de equipamientos, servicios y áreas comunes (plazas, jardines, comercio, jardines infantiles, etc.). The complex, built in wood, should accommodate between 150 and 400 inhabitants per hectare with proposals for continuous building types or town houses, semi- detached or isolated units and with GFAs of 50 m² to 140 m², as appropriate to the chosen location. National Architecture Award winners Antonia Lehmann and Juan Sabbagh, architect Francisco Vivanco (AOA); Sebastián Araya (Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning); Alberto Mozó (architect specialist in the use of wood) and Enzo Valladares (structural engineer) formed the jury, chaired by architect Martín Hurtado. In their decision, issues such as the integration of the community, the creation of urban facilities, services and common areas (squares, gardens, shopping areas, kindergartens, etc.) were considered.
