El Viaducto del Malleco, hito arquitectónico e histórico nacional, es una de las mayores obras de ingeniería metálica en Chile. Sin embargo su principal punto de observación desde el puente carretero paralelo, con la fugacidad que permite el paso del automóvil. Se propone un proyecto de infraestructura que ponga en valor esta obra monumental. Se trata de cuatro estaciones unidas por un sendero, que invitan al espectador a detenerse y contemplar el viaducto desde sus distintas escalas. El acceso al proyecto se ubica al costado de la autopista, donde se contempla un estacionamiento. The Malleco Viaduct, a national architectural and historical landmark, is one of the greatest works of steel engineering in Chile. However the main point of observation is from the parallel road bridge, with the fleeting passing of cars. The project proposes an infrastructure that appraises this monumental work. Four stations linked by a trail invite the viewer to stop and admire the viaduct with its different scales. Access to the project is located on the side of the highway, served by a parking lot.

La Estación Viaducto es la única de las estaciones que no responde a la tipología pesada de las fundaciones, ya que no se posa en el territorio, sino que en el interior del puente metálico, generando así una nueva dimensión para el espectador, en donde este ya no mira el viaducto desde el paisaje, sino que mira el paisaje a través de su estructura. The Viaduct Station is the only station that doesn’t belong to the typology of a heavy foundation, since it does not sit on the ground but inside the metal bridge, generating a new dimension for the user who doesn’t look at the viaduct from the landscape but looks at the landscape through the structure.
