MUSEO DE VALPARAÍSO ASCENSOR LECHEROS VALPARAISO LECHEROS ELEVATOR MUSEUM
Equipo Team: Antonio Menéndez, Cristián Barrientos, Arturo Domínguez, Christopher Bugueño, Isabel Klahn (Rearquitectura) Pese a ser Patrimonio de la Humanidad, Valparaíso carece de un museo que narre su historia desde el período precolombino al presente. Considerando la existencia del Ascensor Lecheros y la casa escondite de Pablo Neruda, ambos inmuebles olvidados y en riesgo de desaparecer, se propone una nueva construcción que acoja el Museo de la Ciudad de Valparaíso y que conecte e integre el Ascensor y la Casa de Neruda Fugitivo como parte de su muestra. Se emplaza en un terreno eriazo a la venta y a un terreno con viviendas precarias de material liviano adosadas a los inmuebles a conservar, generando un grave peligro de incendio. Despite being a World Heritage Site, Valparaiso lacks a museum to display its history from pre-Columbian times to the present. Considering the existence of the Lecheros Elevator and Pablo Neruda's hideaway house, both forgotten and at risk of disappearing, the new construction is to house the Museum of the City of Valparaiso and connect and integrate the elevator and the House of “Neruda the Fugitive” as part of its exhibit. It is located on two plots, one fallow and for sale and another attached to the heritage property and full of ramshackle dwellings, creating a serious fire hazard.
