Cálculo estructural Structural engineering Yuri Torres Superficie Area 1.400 m² Año Year 2013 Fotografías Photographs Sergio Pirrone Para la reconstrucción de un colegio ubicado en el centro histórico de la ciudad de Constitución, una de las más dañadas por el terremoto de 2010, se elaboró un proyecto de dimensiones urbanas y sociales. Como primera estrategia se habilitó un espacio de plaza pública hacia la ciudad retranqueando la fachada continua, típica del centro histórico, proyectada hacia el interior del terreno. Por su vértice norponiente, la plaza se contiene con un elemento escultórico (cuyo interior aloja la capilla del colegio) que alude a las rocas naturales de la zona. En la construcción se utilizaron técnicas pasivas de arquitectura sustentable para mejorar el confort al interior de las salas de clases, aumentando la eficiencia energética en la aislación de muros, sin puentes térmicos y ventanas termopaneles. También se dio especial énfasis a la calidad lumínica a través de lucarnas con difusores de luz en los techos de las salas. For the reconstruction of a school located in the historic center of the city of Constitución –one of the most damaged by the earthquake of 2010– we developed a project with urban and social dimensions. A space for a city public square with set-back continuous façade was designed inside the site, following the typical features of the historic center. On its northwestern corner, the square is marked by a sculptural element housing the school chapel, which alludes to the natural rock formations of the area. Sustainable architecture passive techniques were used to improve comfort inside the classrooms, increasing energy efficiency in the insulation of walls, avoiding thermal bridges and using double glass windows. Special emphasis was given to the quality of light by means of skylights with light diffusers in the ceilings of the rooms.
