The Lakes South Morang College Issue 19

As we begin to look towards 2025, we are in the process of planning programs, staffing, and finalising student numbers. A key part of this planning is our Prep transition program, which is already underway. We are excited to welcome our new Prep students and support their smooth transition into school life at The Lakes. This program is designed to ensure that every child feels confident and ready for their first year of school, and we look forward to seeing our new students thrive in the year ahead. As the weather warms up, we need to remind ourselves of the importance of being safe in the sun. Term 4 brings sunnier days, and we expect all students to follow our sun smart practices, including wearing hats and applying sunscreen during outdoor activities. Keeping our students safe in the sun is a shared responsibility, and we appreciate your support in ensuring our community is sun smart. The Primary Leadership team are incredibly fortunate to be able to spend time on both campuses throughout the week. Whether we ’ re out in the yard, teaching in the classroom, having conversations with staff, or working with our Secondary students, we are continually reminded of how our values shine through. Our values of Learning, Respect, Teamwork, and Leadership are at the heart of everything we do. These values guide us in creating an environment of high standards, academic rigour, and a culture where every

student and staff member can thrive. We are proud to be part of a community where these values are consistently demonstrated, and we are confident that together, we will continue to build a school that we are all proud of. Finally, we want to gently remind our community of the importance of remaining calm and respectful in all interactions regarding our students' learning and well - being. Whether we are addressing concerns, offering feedback, or celebrating success, it is essential that we continue to model respectful and supportive behaviour. As adults, it is our responsibility to lead by example, and know that together, we can create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

Thank you all for your continued commitment to our College. Let ’ s finish the Term strong, continue to support one another, and make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead.

Kind regards

Rob Zull
