ANIMAL ENRICHMENT STEM CHALLENGE
YEAR 4 DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY
Students in Year 4 started by identifying the features and purpose of these features for 4 animals (Lion, Little Penguin, Alpine Dingo & Echidna). They then picked one of these animals to learn more about before designing an enrichment object or feature to go in their enclosure to maintain the animals health, engagement and overall happiness.
SCRATCH GAME CHANGERS
YEAR 5 DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Students worked through the design process, learning about several Zoos Victoria campaigns, before building a simple game in Scratch to teach others about the campaigns.
CERES SCHOOLS FOR WILDLIFE
YEAR 4 & 5
In Term 3 a select group of students worked with staff from CERES as part of the Schools for Wildlife Program to then design and create a wildlife garden on Primary that will encourage biodiversity within our school's ecosystem.
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
YEAR 6 DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY
Students worked through the design process as teams to identify a product or service to promote and sell as their Social Enterprise with a focus on teaching P - 5 about a Zoos Victoria campaign through their stall. On the market day students and teachers from around the school spent tokens (instead of money) on a range of products and services like games, biscuit decorating, collectable items, carnival games,
ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS & CAMOUFLAGE
PREP - YEAR 7
As part of National Science Week all students from Prep to Year 7 participated in activities exploring Animal Adaptations. We paired year levels up and together they camouflaged different animals into the school environment.
