Deputy Housemaster Amy Fisher

After growing up in South West England, Amy Fisher began her career as an offshore surveyor before retraining as a Chemistry teacher. After teaching in the UK for three years, she moved to New Zealand to combine her teaching with a love of travel and watersports. In 2024, Amy relocated to the South Island and joined Christ’s College, teaching Chemistry and junior Mathematics. She has completed a Master of Educational Leadership and contributes to the wider College community through Outdoor Education, hockey, and volleyball. Formerly a mentor in Richards House, Amy looks forward to building strong relationships within the Harper House community.

Robbie Turrell is from London, England, but Aotearoa is his home and he has been here for nearly 13 years. His original career pathway led Robbie to the financial markets in London before training to teach ESOL and working in Mexico and Spain. He then undertook a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education) teaching degree in Sheffield, England, and taught at a comprehensive school outside London for seven years as the Head of Business Education and IT. In 2012, Robbie and his wife, Louise, moved to Wellington, where he taught at Bishop Viard College and Onslow College. While there, Robbie completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2019. In 2021, they moved to Christchurch, where Robbie took a role teaching Commerce at Christ’s College. He moved to Burnside High School but rejoined Christ’s College in August 2024.
