La nueva facultad como cuerpo unitario viene a cerrar el perímetro de lo que será la futura área verde, generada con su reformulación. Su emplazamiento busca abrir una ventana con el borde del río. Se presenta en forma de L, abrazando el cine preexistente, generando espacios comunes entre ambos, que refuerzan la condición de encuentro y fluidez entre el interior y el exterior del piso noble, que busca ser la plaza cubierta y contenida de la propuesta. El volumen superior, que descansa sobre la placa que contiene el acceso al edificio, es iconográficamente la imagen representativa del proyecto, respeta la altura del resto de los edificios de su entorno. Su piel, tejida a la manera de un canasto, crea una vista velada hacia el exterior, permitiendo la creación de un interior que resguarda la reflexión y el pensamiento, sin perder la relación con su entorno. El proyecto busca integrarse a la urbanización del campus universitario, sin alterar el sistema de recorridos preexistente. The new faculty as a unitary figure comes to finish the perimeter of what will be the future green area generated with its reformulation. Its location seeks to open a window to the river's edge. An L shaped volume embraces the existing cinema, creating common spaces between them, reinforcing the condition of connection and fluidity between interior and exterior of the piano nobile, becoming the covered and contained square of the proposal. The top volume, which rests on the plate containing the access to the building, is the representative iconographic image of the project, and follows the height of the surrounding buildings. Its skin, woven in the manner of a basket, creates a veiled view to the outside, allowing the creation of an interior that shelters reflection and thought, without losing the relationship with its surroundings. The project seeks integration into the urban grid of the campus, without altering the existing system of circulations.
