III PREMIO CICOP III CICOP PRIZE La tercera versión del Premio CICOP Chile convocó proyectos de título de Arquitectura sobre preexistencias de valor patrimonial, ampliando su llamado a todos los países latinoamericanos donde la Federación Internacional de Centros CICOP tiene representación. The third version of the CICOP Chile Prize called for Architecture degree projects on pre-existing valuable heritage buildings, expanding its call to all Latin American countries where the International Federation of CICOP Centers has representation. El Centro para Conservación del Patrimonio, CICOP, busca contribuir al reconocimiento, difusión y protección del patrimonio cultural, especialmente el patrimonio construido. En este contexto surgió el Premio CICOP, cuya tercera versión se abrió a arquitectos que hubieran aprobado sus proyectos de título entre julio de 2013 y agosto de 2015. Participaron 30 proyectos de 18 escuelas de arquitectura de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica y Ecuador, los que fueron evaluados por los arquitectos Patricio Gross, representante de CICOP Chile y presidente del jurado; Luis Gómez, representante del Colegio de Arquitectos; Carlos Alberto Urzúa, de la AOA; Antonino Pirozzi y Carolina Vergara, de CICOP Chile. El director del concurso fue el arquitecto Francisco Herrera. Por unanimidad el proyecto ganador del Premio CICOP 2015 fue Fábrica Hotel, de la participante brasilera Paola Maia Fagundes. The International Center for the Conservation of Architectural Heritage, CICOP, seeks to contribute to the recognition, promotion and protection of cultural heritage, especially the built heritage. Thus the CICOP Prize was created and in its third version aimed at architects with degree projects approved between July 2013 and August 2015. Thirty projects from 18 schools of architecture in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica and Ecuador participated, and were evaluated by architects Patricio Gross, CICOP Chile representative and president of the jury; Luis Gómez, representative of the Association of Architects; Carlos Alberto Urzúa, from the AOA; Antonino Pirozzi and Carolina Vergara from CICOP Chile. The director of the competition was architect Francisco Herrera. The Brazilian participant Paola Maia Fagundes was unanimously awarded the 2015 CICOP prize for her Fábrica Hotel project.

El proyecto Fábrica Hotel consiste en la reconversión de la antigua fábrica Rheingantz de Rio Grande, primera hilandería y tejeduría de Brasil, que configuró un extenso complejo industrial con una villa obrera significativa y que entró en decadencia y abandono a partir de 1970.
The Fábrica Hotel project involves the conversion of the former Rheingantz factory in Rio Grande, the first spinning mill and wool-weaving factory of Brazil, which set up a large industrial complex with a significant workers village and entered into decay and neglect in 1970.

Además de los dos primeros lugares se entregaron dos menciones honrosas: Residencia Universitaria Colectivo Vallejos, de Beatriz Coeffé (Universidad de Chile) y Centro Cívico Industrial Ebner, de Nicolás Fernández (Universidad del Desarrollo). In addition to the two first places two honorable mentions were presented: Collectivo Vallejos University Residence, by Beatriz Coeffé (Universidad de Chile) and Ebner Civic Industrial Center, by Nicolás Fernández (Universidad del Desarrollo).
