La vastedad de la pampa patagónica no permitía la interrupción de un "edificio" en una suerte de silencio permanente. Por eso se optó por unidades aisladas, a modo de cabañas "esparcidas" en la pradera al borde de un bosque de lengas, ñirres y coigües. El diseño, que se inspira en las construcciones tradicionales del extremo sur de Chile, deja la estructura prácticamente en el exterior mediante pilares en una trama de 1 m aprox. La fragilidad y humedad del terreno sugería construcciones elevadas tipo "palafito", y la distancia e inclemencias climáticas llevaron a prefabricar la mayor parte del hotel. The vastness of the Patagonian plains did not allow the irruption of a "building" within this sort of permanent silence. Therefore, a decision was made to divide the program into individual units, cabins spread out in the prairie on the edge of a forest of lenga , ñirre and coigüe beeches. The design, inspired by the traditional buildings of the far south of Chile, places the structure practically on the outside, with columns set one meter apart. The fragility and humidity of the terrain suggested building on stilts, and the distance and weather conditions led to the prefabrication of most of the hotel.
