Objects: A gold ring, a cheap ring from the dime store, some nitric acid, and a swab made with a tooth pick and cotton. Lesson: Which one of these rings would you like to have? One looks, bright, and the other rather dull. Be fore you choose, I want you to know that one is real gold, and the other is not. Most of you have chosen the bright, shining one. There is a way to find out which is gold and which is an imitation of gold. I will dip this iswab in acid and show you how to make the test. This dull looking ring is not changed by acid. It is real gold. Now we will test the bright looking one. Immediately it turns green, showing that it is not real gold. As we have been making this test, I have been reminded of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was taken into the wilderness and tempted by the devil, in order that it might be shown that He was the sinless Son

Objects: A small umbrella (a toy one if possible), a laige funnel, two cups, and a pitcher of waiter. Lesson: Boys and girls, why does your mother use a funnel, such as this one? “So that she will not lose what she is pouring.” Did you ever hear of anyone’s bringing a funnel to church in order not to lose any of the blessings God wants to give? No, I suppose you never have, but there are those who are careful to catch all the blessings of God. As I pour water into this funnel, the liquid is transferred into the cup beneath it. Do you remem ber the psalmist who was so thank ful for God’s blessings that he said: “My cup runneth over” ? Then there are others who come to the house of God with an umbrella. I am not talking about real umbrellas; I mean the imaginary ones, such as unbelief, prejudice, and doubt, which keep people from being refreshed by God’s showers of blessings. The other cup which I have placed under the umbrella, does not get a drop of water as I pour from the pitcher. This funnel reminds me of Abraham, when he was called by God to leave his native country and go to a new land. In Hebrews 11:8, we read, “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheri tance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” Most of the people of Abraham’s day Ijad hearts of unbelief, but Abraham1had a heart of faith into which he re ceived all the promises and blessings T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S

Objects: A capital “L.” (From a piece of white paper cut a cross with upright and crossarm 2 inches wide. Color one side red and the other gold. Fold down at the middle of the cross- arm, with the red inside. This wili make the letter “T.” Fold again, bringing the two ends of the cross- arm together making the letter “L.” ) Lesson: Would you like to see a love letter? Here is one, the letter “L,” which speaks to us of love. Taking into consideration the color, what kind of love do you think it might represent? “It is golden, and gold reminds us of heaven.” That is a very good answer. It re minds us of the love of God, which came down from heaven. Real love wants to do something for the one loved. A mother, because of love, will do for a

of God. If He had not been the Son of God, He would have come forth from the testing tarnished by sin, as all human beings are; but .the fact that He did pot yield to the temptations of Satan proved that He was God’s sinless Son. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling' of our in firmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Heb. 4:15). How glad we should be that Jesus Christ is without sin, for t^herwise He could not be our Saviour.
