The Cornerstone Christian varsity girls basketball team defeated Tabernacle Christian 68-43 on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 to win the ACAA Division 2A State Championship. To reach the title game, Cornerstone defeated Tuscaloosa 50-38 in the state semi-final round. Mackenzie Ely and Jacie Bell were named to the All-Tournament Team. Bell was named the tournament's MVP. The Guntersville varsity girls basketball team pose for a group photo after winning the 2022 Northeast Regional Tournament at Jacksonville State University. The Lady Wildcats advanced to the state tournament, where they defeated Charles Henderson 68-60 in the semifinals and Lee Huntsville 40-37 in the championship game to win the 2022 Class 5A Girls State Title. In the championship game, State MVP Olivia Vandergriff pulled Guntersville ahead with two free throws with only 11 seconds left in the game. Teammate Lainie Phillips iced the game, with a blocked shot in the final seconds. Vandergriff led Guntersville with 15 points in the win. Guntersville Wildcats Class 5A Girls AHSAA State Champs

The Pisgah varsity girls won the program's fifth straight state title with a 74-54 victory over St. Luke's Episcopal in the 2022 Class 2A Girls' State Championship Game. It was the Lady Eagles 10th overall state crown and Pisgah's 8th under head coach Carey Ellison. In the championship game, senior Molly Heard recorded a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds. For her efforts she was named the Class 2A Girls MVP. Heard, who is planning to continue her career at Lipscomb University, finished her time at Pisgah with 2,696 points, making her the program's all-time leading scorer.
