Congratulations on your Championship season!
The Section varsity boys basketball program won the Class 2A State Championship by defeating Mars Hill Bible 77-61 in the finals of the 2022 State Tournament. Logan Patterson led the Lions with a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds and he was named the Class 2A Boys MVP. For the 10 seniors on the Lions' program, it was an exciting and emotional ending to a great season. "It was a dream come true," said Alex Guinn, who had 15 points in win. The Plainview Varsity Boys have been one of the top program's in the state in recent years and the Bears proved that fact by winning the 2022 Class 3A State Championship. The title marked the program's third state crown in the past five years, as Plainview won back-to-back state titles in 2018 and 2019, all three under head coach Robi Coker. Class 3A MVP Cole Millican helped lead Plainview to the 2022 State Title. Millican scored 22 points in the Bears 77-60 victory over Winfield. Cole's Brother Caden Millican made a 3-pointer in overtime to lead Plainview to a 78-75 win over Hillcrest Evergreen in the 2018 championship and he also made a game winning 3-pointer in 2019 to give the Bears a 54-52 championship win over Westminster Christian.
