The University of Florida has hired Billy Napier, shown above at his introductory press conference, as the Gators head football coach. Since taking over the coaching duties in Gainesville, Napier has already hired numerous assistant coaches.Oneofthecoachesjoining him at Florida is Mark Hocke, who will serve as Associate Head Coach and Director of Football Strength and Conditioning. Hocke spent all four seasons (2018- 21) at Louisiana with Napier, which included four straight Sun Belt West Division titles, a share of the Sun Belt title in 2020 and 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship. Hocke began his collegiate coaching career at the University of Alabama in 2009 spending six seasons on head coach Nick Saban's staff and was with Napier in Tuscaloosa during the 2011 and 2014-15 seasons. Other coaching hires include Patrick Toney, who will serve as Co-Defensive Coordinator and Safeties Coach; Jabbar Juluke as the Gators next Running Backs Coach; Ryan O'Hara Offensive Analyst – Quarterbacks; Corey Raymond as cornerbacks coach and assistant head coach on defense; and Super Bowl Champion Darnell Stapleton will serve as an assistant, coaching the offensive line. Pierce | The Sports Ledger Kelly Leaves Irish for LSU Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly celebrates after leading the then ranked No. 11 Fighting Irish to a 21-17 victory over No. 18 LSU in the 2018 VRBO Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Fast forward to 2021 and Kelly is now the head coach of the football team he defeated in the 2018 bowl game. Kelly has officially left Notre Dame to take over as head football coach at LSU. He is replacing former coach Ed Orgeron, who left the Tiger's program at the end of the 2021 season. Kelly has reportedly signed a 10 year deal with LSU that is valued at approximately 9.5 million a year, plus incentives.
Vols Are Bowl Bound Tennessee players congratulate Princeton Fant (#88) following a touchdown during the 2021 season. The Volunteers finished 7-5 under first year head coach Josh Heupel.
