Kay Ivey Named Most Popular Female Governor

According to a recent poll by Morning Consult, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is one of the nation’s most popular governors. Governor Ivey has the eighth best job approval rating in the country and the best in the Southeast. She is also the most popular female governor. The ranking is based on each state’s voters’ approval of their governor’s job performance. “I loveAlabama and her people, and it is the highest honor of my life to serve as their governor. Snead State Community College held an open house and ribbon cutting for the newly renovated McCain Student Center on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Community members had a chance to tour the renovated facility, which is home to the college's Admission Office, Financial Aid, Business Office, Student Services, Information Technology and Campus Engagement. The McCain Student Center has some new additions, including meeting rooms, a banquet and event room, and a gathering space for students. There is also a tribute to the college's former student center, or commonly referred to as the old "sub". As shown to the right, Snead State has preserved a part of the old subs original flooring and a spiral staircase, which are a now a focal point in the McCain Center. Some of those participating and attending the ribbon cutting at Snead State include: Contractor Hayes Eidson with Eidson and Associates, Senator Clay Scofield, SSCC President Joe Whitmore, and Architect Phil Blackwith Simonton Swaika Black Architects. Teamwork is a word that gets used a lot in sports, but it’s even more important for the community as a whole. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new partnership that benets Albertville City Schools and beyond. Marshall Therapy & Sports Rehab and The Orthopedic Center are joining together with Sand Mountain Park in this unique initiative. The part- nership will provide students with sports-related academic support, internships and work-based learning opportunities. It will also provide support to ACS certied athletic trainers, including a certied trainer to serve school teams with a home eld at Sand Mountain Park. Finally, our community will gain expanded, convenient access to orthopedic diagnostics and specialists. Education and athletics have always been good teammates in Albertville. We’re excited to build on that legacy to improve the athletic health of the entire community.
