Free Clerical Training Course Tri-County Literacy Council is offering a free clerical course that focuses on aspects of office procedures in preparation for entry-level positions. The training is suitable for a variety of learners including those planning to enter the school environment after a prolonged absence and people changing careers. The seven-week course starts May 24. Winging support for BBBS
The bottles of sauce were flying during the year’s Wing It for Kids Sake. The second annual event, organized by Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), pitted several different restaurants against each other, to see who exactly has the best chicken wing sauce. “In all, we have eight different restaurants participating,” said BBBS Executive Director Amanda Brisson. “We also have some Littles serving tonight. It’s going to be great!” Esca Pizza, Schnitzels, Boston Pizza, Deke and Squeaks, Shoeless Joes, Sheep’s Head Bistro, Scores and the Propeller restaurant were all participating in the event. Around 200 members of the community participated in the chicken wing event, making it as successful as last year. “All the funds we get from tonight go directly back into the seven programs we offer,” stressed Brisson.
