by varying patterns and scale plus a few subtle pops of color in accessories and pillows. The original space was much more closed off than it is now. Instead of the living room having a direct view of the kitchen, there was originally a wall that separated the two. The wall had a pass- through opening, but this only dated the space and made it feel much smaller than the current floor plan. Lacey made all the finish selections and contracted out the renovation on her own. “We flipped a couple of houses, and I just have fun with that kind of stuff. I get pleasure

Along the left side of the kitchen, she chose to omit a standard lower and upper cabinet setup, instead using floor-to-ceiling cabinets to meet her need for a pantry. To compensate for any resulting loss of countertop, she created an oversized island that allows for ample workspace. To break up the monotony of the white cabinets along the walls, Lacey accented the large island in black, with a stunning quartz countertop featuring waterfall edges. The black is then repeated in her breakfast table and the window treatments in the common areas.
