TITAN TIMES | 2021 YEAR IN REVIEW
Rip Rap - Out! ShoreFlex® - In! This summer Titan supplied ShoreFlex®, a high-strength geogrid encapsulated in a matrix of concrete blocks, for a project in Saskatchewan. The product was used for end treatment of culverts. Normally, the finishing treatments for these culverts would be rip rap. Because of the higher expense of rip rap as well as the lower- end performance, ShoreFlex® was the superior choice for this job. It allows for vegetation and can be mowed over which is not possible with rip rap. ShoreFlex® is also held in place whereas rip rap can be removed or can shift with the passing of water. Titan was on-site to deliver the ShoreFlex® product and to inspect some of the culvert field sites. The proper site requirements for the installation of ShoreFlex® were discussed. The installation went quicker than expected, and Shoreflex® is proving to be a viable solution!
"Secondary" to None A dosing system at sewage transfer/pumping station in Los Angeles California required a small secondary containment. Titan USA supplied 30 mil XR5 a geomembrane as well as a 44" high containment system. Our team started and finished the job in one day, despite working in a limited location surrounded by a fence with only one entry point and barely a foot of space around the perimeter of the installation area.
