DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic planning • Lead the strategic planning for the future development of the estate in support of the UCL Estate Strategy having regard to agreed Institutional, Divisional and Faculty priorities. • Lead and manage engagement with a wide range of internal stakeholders and partners to develop space strategy, optimising the effective allocation, utilisation and management of space throughout UCL. • Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal stakeholders and external partners to develop feasibility and scoping documentation; lead the compilation of business cases and presentations associated with space demands. • Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to ensure the effective transition from feasibility to delivery based on a detailed understanding of stakeholders’ needs and objectives.

Property - asset management and transactions • Lead the development and implementation of UCL’s property and asset management strategy • Lead the acquisition of property on behalf of UCL including negotiations relating to freehold and leasehold agreements and contracts; lead transactions for the disposal of surplus property assets. • Lead the relationship with in-house legal counsel and external legal property advisers. • Represent the Division and the Institution in its property dealings with local land owners and their representatives. See opportunities for join ventures and partnering alongside strategic asset management planning of leasehold and freehold estate. • Represent the Institution in town planning matters to the maximum benefit of its wider range and objectives. • Ensure that the Estate is properly insured in liaison with the Finance Division; oversee periodic revelations of UCL’s 2bn holdings for fire insurance • Manage UCL’s property budget of c. 40M pa
