028a PICKLEBALL- BEGINNER LEVEL This class will cover the basics of pickleball--the proper dink shot technique, groundstrokes, volleys, scoring and basic strategy. Pickleball America staff will help you improve your skill sets with tried and proven instructional techniques and self-coaching methodologies. The focus in this class will be on the best use of all shots in the transition game. Drills and game-based embedded skills will sharpen your competitive edge. Self-coaching techniques will be employed through situational strategic episodes. High level skills-based drills will emphasize forward thinking situational decision-making in real time point play. Staff will push you beyond your comfort zone and help you self-coach your way to improved situational positioning and shot placement strategies. In-Person Pickleball America, 140 Atlantic Street, Stamford Town Center Mall 4 sessions $200 1) Tues., Sept. 3-24 6:00 - 7:30PM 028d PICKLEBALL- JOURNEY FROM 3.5 TO 4.0 This class focuses on strategy, transition zone progression, volleys and dinks at the net, stroke evaluation, and consistency. The ulti- mate goal is to reach a 4.0 level at the end of class. We will learn and develop basic language skills (greetings, saying goodbye, introducing yourself and others, name and background, providing personal information, numbers, social situations, etc.). 029b GERMAN CONTINUATION 1 R A continuation and expansion of the Basic German class. Grammar will be continued in more depth, and we will introduce the past tense and the future tense. Prerequisite: Some basic knowledge of German. The focus will be on expanding and strenghtening grammar, building vocabulary and improving speaking, writing, and comprehension skills. Short homework assignments will be given. The course will also cover contemporary German culture. Christine Binsteiner-Bendett Mon., Sept. 23 7:30-9:00PM VIRTUAL 10 sessions $135 029c GERMAN CONTINUATION 2 R This is an advanced - intermediate course for those who have completed German Continuation 1 or have good intermediate language skills. Grammar continued in more depth with focus on expanding and strengthening grammar, vocabulary, speaking, writing and conversational skills. We will start reading short stories in German. This course will also cover contemporary German culture. Christine Binsteiner-Bendett Tues., Sept. 24 7:30-9:00PM VIRTUAL 10 sessions $135 029d GERMAN ADVANCED CONVERSATION R This course is designed for people who want to get a broad knowledge of the German language with emphasis on expression, correct grammar and form. You will continue to expand your vocabulary and improve oral fluency. We will read and discuss articles in German with the focus on German culture and society. Prerequisite: Advanced knowledge of German (Grammar and vocabulary). In each session, there will be proficiency development exercises in grammar, vocabulary, speaking, reading, and pronunciation, all pertaining to the topic chosen for that session. To enhance your cultural experience, many of the topical exercises will include authentic cultural material, i.e., songs, poems, restaurant menus, audio clips of weather reports, etc.).
