Austin PT_Is Stress Causing Your Neck Pain?

HOW PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP

Neck pain can be managed with the right Physical Therapy program and habit changes. At Austin PT we will work diligently to correct the postural patterns present in your hips and trunk that are demanding the neck muscles to work in excess and leading to pain & tightness. A common pattern people present is a combination of forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and a center of gravity that is over the toes. In this position, the upper trap neck muscles are activating chronically out of necessity to keep the head up against gravity. With the correct exercise program, we can work to strengthen the core, bring the shoulders back into a retracted position, and shift the center of gravity back over the heels which will stack the spine in a more aligned position with gravity reducing the root issues of the problem not just the symptoms. If you’re dealing with neck pain, you’re not alone. Call our office today, and schedule an assessment. Even if your neck pain is caused by stress, it still needs attention. We’ll work side by side with your goals, creating the proactive, effective programs you need to achieve mobility once more.
