We are delighted to present this special edition of our school’s E- Magazine, Expressions – Darpan, commemorating a truly momentous occasion—the completion of ten illustrious years of Delhi Public School, Miyapur! It has indeed been a remarkable decade of growth, learning, and community building. This edition is a humble endeavour to capture that journey—by weaving together our experiences, reflections, and milestones, and presenting them before you with pride and gratitude. For this unique issue of Darpan, we have chosen the theme ‘The Light Within’ . This decade-long journey would never have been possible without the inner spark that each member of the DPS Miyapur family brings to our school—be it a student, a teacher, a staff member, or an administrator. We believe that this theme beautifully reflects the spirit of our school—the light of purpose, resilience, and creativity that propels us forward, even as we navigate challenges and embrace change. It is this inner light that fuels our collective growth and inspires us to reach higher, dream bigger, and work harder. REGISTER NOW I have enjoyed being associated with DPS Miyapur for the last nearly 5 years, albeit in a small way as Vice-Chairperson of its Managing Committee. It has been instructive to see how this young School has grown in only a decade to parent around 4,000 students now, with fine infrastructure and facilities, management, teachers and other staff. Beyond the narrow (though important) indicator of examination results, it has established a reputation for providing a holistic educational and co-curricular experience which provides a strong foundation for the future of its students. As I step into this new role at this 10 year young and flourishing institution, I find myself reflecting on an incredible 19-year journey with the Delhi Public School, first at the Hyderabad branch (since 2006) and then in the Miyapur branch (since 2019) — a journey that has shaped my values, strengthened my purpose, and continues to inspire me each day. It has been a proud association, and the ethos it has instilled in me empowers and motivates me to serve with dedication and integrity. A strong feeling of purpose, honour, and excitement overwhelms me as I take on this new responsibility. TOYCATHON 2021 Triumph at the NATIONAL LEVEL! Our team’s innovative toy idea based on Chakravyuh and mathematical concepts from Kurukshetra was selected for the final round out of 1.5 lakh entries! Among 1567 finalists, Yash, Sneha Yadavalli, and Vedika J. Soneji had the honour of interacting with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi after emerging as one of the 117 winning teams—a celebration of creativity rooted in Indian culture.

INTACH Recognition for DPS Miyapur! DPS Miyapur received a Special Mention from INTACH for its outstanding heritage initiatives (2024–25). Students from Balvatika-1 to Grade 12 celebrated India’s cultural, scientific, and ecological legacy through activities like Stargazing Night, festival-based learning, and mythological storytelling— fostering pride and awareness of our rich heritage.

They were selected for the Finals of the Junior Make-a-thon (JMT) 2025 conducted by IIT Madras in collaboration with Creya, and proudly represented DPS Miyapur at the IIT Madras campus.

Students from grade VIII participated in the International Asteroid Search Campaign(2024), where they had the opportunity to analyse astronomical data from the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System located at Haleakala Observatory in Hawaii, USA. The campaign was conducted in collaboration with NASA, and upon completion, students were designated as Citizen Scientists.

DPS Miyapur Triumphs at the CBSE Science Exhibition 2023–24! Aneesh Arnav Chikkala’s innovative project “SONI SENSE” won First Prize at the Regional Science Exhibition held at Reqelford International School (Dec 21–22) and qualified for the CBSE Nationals in Noida. Congratulations Hanith Sahoo! On 5th March, 2022, Hanith Sahoo earned the India Book of Records by reciting 51 English Rhymes and the National Anthem in 21 minutes 40 seconds at the age of 4 years. DPS Miyapur shines at the CBSE cluster championship 2025! Our Under-17 girls’ badminton team makes a grand entry into the nationals by winning gold. We beat top schools from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through a combination of grit, grace and game!

In August 2025, 10-year-old Vidhi Vishal Parmar of grade IV rans past boundaries and won silver in the Under-17 girls’ 300m event and bronze in the Under-17 girls’ 1500M event, securing a spot at the nationals. She defeated top schools from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through outstanding performance and determination!

A proud moment for Lyosha (Grade 5) at the Under-13 National Ranking Badminton Championship ,2025 ! She emerged victorious against leading schools from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with remarkable focus and effort. Lyosha won a bronze medal in girls’ doubles and reached the quarterfinals in girls’ singles. She is now ranked 9th in girls’ doubles and 12th in the Under-13 category in India.

Math Lab DPS Miyapur has two Mathematics Laboratories—in the Junior and Senior Blocks. The Junior Lab focuses on hands-on learning of basic arithmetic operations, fractions etc helping students grasp foundational concepts. The Senior Lab engages learners with practical activities in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and mensuration, using models, graphs, and digital tools. The Space Lab at DPS Miyapur inspires students to explore space science from a young age. Students engage in hands-on activities like building solar system models and exploring space technology. A shining example is Track sense, a student team that developed a smart system to prevent train-wildlife collisions. The Digital Dreams COMPUTER LABS

DPS Miyapur offers a future- ready computer education program across four modern labs (1 in Junior Block, 3 in Senior Block), each with 40 systems providing individual access to students.
