Oct. 19: Turkey Hold ‘Em Ride Fundraiser On Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., locals can participate in the Turkey Hold ‘Em gravel bike adventure supporting the Marin Museum of Bicycling and the Marin County Bicycle Coalition. Riders or teams navigate to secret checkpoints revealed that morning, collecting playing cards to form poker hands. Prizes are awarded for best hands and for additional creative categories announced on the day of the event. Attendees can look forward to food, drinks and community spirit. The ride begins and ends at the Marin Museum of Bicycling, 1966 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Fairfax. Registration is online for individuals and teams. Register at mmbhof.or g.
Oct. 25: Trick or Treat on Fourth Street in Downtown San Rafael
Oct. 26: Halloween Activities & Graveyard Stroll Join county open space rangers for a spooky, family-friendly Halloween event on Oct. 25, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Meet at the Lucas Valley Field Office, 18 Jeannette Prandi Way in San Rafael. Enjoy activities, a photo booth and meet Jungle James and his live animals. At 7:30 p.m., take part in the interactive Graveyard Stroll featuring ghostly characters. The walk is 0.3 miles with no elevation gain—dress warmly and wear sturdy shoes. For more information visit marincounty.gov.
Oct. 1-31: Honor System Pumpkin Patch Through the month of October, the Honor System Pumpkin Patch will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are two pumpkin patch locations at Marin Country Mart, 2257 Larkspur Landing Circle, Suite C in Larkspur: at the shopping center entrance and in front of the Trading Post. Choose from heirloom pumpkins like Howden, Cinderella, Musquee de Provence and Marina Di Chioggia in a variety of colors and textures. This pumpkin patch uses the honor system, the payment box at the patch will take cash or Square. For more information visit marincountrymart.com .
Celebrate Halloween as a family on Oct. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. on Fourth Street in Downtown San Rafael. Kids can trick-or-treat at participating businesses—just look for window signs! Enjoy the Pet Costume Contest from 1 to 2 p.m., hosted by Woodlands Pet Food & Treats. Fill your bags with candy at the Trunk or Treat sponsored by the San Rafael Police Department and spin the Prize Wheel by Foster Our Future, both in the Plaza from 1 to 3 p.m. Visit downtownsanrafael.org for a full list of participating merchants.
