NEWMEMBERSHIP MANAGER FORCIPP

CIPP’S POLICYANDRESEARCH TEAMMOVES FURTHER TO the announcement in the April issue of Professional of the departure of Helen Hargreaves, there have been some changes to the CIPP’s policy and research team to ensure we continue to support you within relevant consultation forums and across relevant government departments.

THE CIPP is delighted to announce that following Justin Mingaye’s departure earlier this year, Dawn Baxter ACIPP has been appointed as membership manager effective 1 April 2020.

Dawn, who has worked for the CIPP since 2008 in various departments, brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to the role. Although her remit will be to improve the membership application and upgrade processes, to ensure that those with relevant expertise are able to join and feel included at the appropriate level of membership, Dawn’s main focus will be on delivering an exceptional membership experience, and working with the policy team, ensuring that our membership benefits are fit for purpose.

Samantha Mann MAAT MCIPPdip takes on the new role of policy and research technical lead. Sam will continue to support members at government level and will produce articles and support through the magazine as well as via News Online. Gemma Mullis has been appointed to the team with effect 13 April 2020, working alongside Lora Murphy in the role of policy and research officer. Gemma joins the team from the CIPP Advisory Service where she has worked since October 2017. Prior to joining the CIPP, Gemma worked within a payroll, HR and finance environment for sixteen years. Her experience has been gained through the insurance and construction industry, running multiple payrolls, managerial roles and a wide range of HR duties. Gemma is currently studying her Foundation Degree in Payroll Management with the CIPP. Members can hear from the CIPP’s policy and research team at the forthcoming national forums.

ALL3MEDIAAPPOINTS JAMES CHARLTON

AFTER STARTING his career as an entry level payroll assistant, James has joined new company all3media in the role of senior payroll administrator. Primarily responsible for 120 payrolls with a mix of

weekly, monthly and fortnightly payment frequencies, the role includes providing support to payroll administrators, and leading and delivering payroll projects and reconciling payrolls. James says that “payroll was not something I had considered as a career choice. However, I have found my niche in payroll.”

NEWPAYROLL RECRUITMENT APPOINTS CONSULTANTS

MACMILLAN DAVIES, the HR recruitment consultancy, has

announced the appointment of Ray Moore and Neil Wild as senior consultants in its recently launched payroll recruitment division. Ray and Neil, who together have more than thirty years’ experience of recruiting for market-leading payroll agencies, will source highly skilled payroll specialists to support clients, covering permanent and contract positions. Darren Hayman, Macmillan Davies’ managing director, commented: “The new specialised payroll recruitment division will complement our wide service offer and provide a more focused approach for both our clients and candidates in the payroll space. We are pleased that our clients will benefit from the depth of experience in Ray and Neil from the outset.”

IN MARCH 2020, Jo Smith was appointed as payments specialist at Equiniti. Well- known within payroll circles, Jo has gained experience in a variety of roles across the pay and reward industry. In recent years her consultancy work has shaped market strategy for leading tech-based companies such as Smart Pension and Paycircle.

TROYCLUTTERBUCKAPPOINTEDBY SMARTERLY WORKPLACE SAVINGS business Smarterly has appointed Troy Clutterbuck as managing director. Smarterly supports companies with their financial wellbeing programmes and helps employees save into workplace ISAs with the convenience of payroll deduction.

Troy, who was previously the chief executive officer (CEO) at Now:Pensions, commented: “Innovation is essential and Smarterly’s focus of promoting healthy savings habits via people’s employers brings financial wellbeing support to the mass market via the workplace.” Ben Pollard, founder and CEO of Smarterly, said: “I am delighted to welcome Troy to the team...and look forward to working with him to achieve our ambitious future plans.”
