MY BIBLE (Continued from Page 79) today? Why is it not like Italy, Russia, South America, Mexico? The answer is “The Bible.” Christ was led by Satan into the. wilderness and tempted. He overcame him w ith the Word of God, “ It is w ritten .” If Christ overcame. Satan w ith the Word— why need we fear th e Modernist? P eter used the Word on th e Day of Pentecost and 3000 were saved. The risen Son of God spoke to Saul of Tarsus and the life of P aul the Apostle is an illu stration off th e influence of th a t word. The Epistles bear testimony. We find a splendid ex ample of the power of the Word of God in th e early church. “ F o r o u r g o s p e l c a m e n o t m i to y o u iu w o rd o n ly , b u t a ls o in p o w e r, a n d In th e H o ly G h o st, a n d in m u ch a s s u r a n c e : a s y e k n o w w-hat m a n n e r o f m en w e w e re am on g; y o u fo r y o u r s a k e . The Word of God makes men and women. Call the roll! B ring the books! Tell th e story! Go to Africa— In d ia s - China— Korea! Stop a t Korea and tell us how and why th a t land has been revolutionized! Because of th e ir study of the Word of God. The history of missions is woven out of the indisputable evidence th a t only the Bible could ac complish w hat has been w rought. This gathering itself stands' as a positive proof of the irresistible power of the Word. (5) ITS INEXHAUSTIBLE SUPPLY. (Meeting every demand of life). “ B u t m y G od s h a ll su p p ly a ll y o u r n ee d acco rd in g; to h is ric h e s in itlo r y h y C h r ist J e s u s .” (P h il. 4 :1 9 ). The Word of God meets évery need of hum an life, an swers every question, solves every problem. Do you want real stories for children? Go to the Bible. Do you want stories for red-blooded men? Go to the Bible. Do you w ant pictures of Satanic power in hum an n atu re? You find them there., commencing w ith the story of Cain, down to Herod, and th e ru lers of the Jews. There is not a single need for sain t or sinner th a t is not flilly met in the living Word as revealed through the w ritten Word, for example: F o r the sinner He is a Saviour. (1 John 4:14) To th e dead He is life. (John 14:6) To th e seeker He is th e door. (John 10:7) To the learn er He is tru th . (John 14:6) To th e blind He is light. (John 8:12) To the hungry He is bread. (John 6:35) To the traveler He is th e way. (John 14:6) To the weak He is power. (1 Cor. 1:24) To the bereaved He is consolation. (Luke 2:25) To the troubled He is peace. (Eph. 2:14) To the doubter He is the faith fu l witness. (Rev. 1 :5 ) (6) ITS INVINCIBLE ARMOR.
