April 1 Marked Our First Day in a Brand-New Building A GREAT APRIL FOOLS’ JOKE

When I purchased this property nine years ago at the start of the recession and several years before we even broke ground, I envisioned a place of service and a dental home where all my patients would feel welcome, at home, and relaxed. So I designed our new building around that goal. Our motto is “With us, you are family.”Our desire is to treat you like family from the moment you enter our new office at our red-carpet entrance to the second you say goodbye to our professional, friendly office staff. We hope you feel comfortable, pampered, and just like family. While you may have heard your fair share of April Fools’ Day pranks a few months ago, we promise that we are telling the truth: We moved into a brand-new building! Finally, right?! This month, we improved our ability to give you better care by moving to a bigger and better office. It was a little ironic that our first day at the new office was April Fools’ Day. The long journey beginning in 2009 had many bumps along the way and culminated as a bit of an April Fools’ joke! But what a great ending and new chapter for our business and for you, our patients, who deserve the best. There are several reasons we decided to make this move, but one of our biggest motivating factors was client comfort. According to the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, nearly 20 percent of Americans opt out of regular dental appointments because they feel afraid, stressed, or anxious about

dentistry. Many of them claim their dentist is knowledgeable and patient, but their fear of climbing into the chair outweighs any confidence that the appointment will go well. So we focus on helping our patients relax. From the relaxing greens and blues on our walls to our aquarium, we hope to reduce the stress of a dental visit.

In our previous building, the dental chairs were, frankly, starting to look a little old after 10 years

of use. They still worked well, but they were worse for the wear. We now have brand-new chairs that don’t just have more cushion; they also have heating and massage features! Additionally, each chair comes equipped with a television and headphones, so patients can tune in to their favorite shows and movies, ensuring their experience is as entertaining as it is excellent. We have these amazing treatment setups in all eight of our patient rooms, whereas in our previous office —where we were limited on space —we only had four rooms. Since we’ve doubled our treatment spaces, we have the opportunity to reduce wait times, treat patients earlier and more efficiently, and add another associate to our team. We have more room in our parking lot, and above all, everything is clean and new. I love it! Lastly, we’ve expanded our reception area to include paintings from talented local artists, and as I mentioned, we’ve also added a 100-gallon aquarium! Visits to my childhood dentist included an aquarium, and before every appointment, I loved to watch the fish swim. To recapture some of that childhood joy, I incorporated an aquarium and supersized it! Overall, our entire team is excited about these changes, and we believe you, our patients, will be as well.
