CUSTOMS ESSENTIALS A one-day course designed for those who have a basic awareness of export and import procedures but who need to gain a better understanding of customs regimes. BTEC INTERMEDIATE AWARD IN MULTIMODAL INTERNATIONAL PROCEDURES This is a four-day course designed for anyone involved in any part of the freight process – forwarders, integrators, intermediaries, agents, shippers, carriers and operators in all modes, importers, exporters, distributors, and logisticians. Days three and four focus on Customs regimes and procedures. BTEC INTERMEDIATE AWARD IN CUSTOMS EXPORT & IMPORT PROCEDURES Originally developed by BIFA with input from HM Customs, this BTEC accredited course has evolved to cover the export and import Customs procedures of today. Delegates will gain an understanding of Customs terminology, procedures and regimes through group work, work- based assignments, and projects.
Our practical training courses are delivered in a face-to-face environment either in person or via Zoom by one of our qualified trainers, who all have over 25+ years’ experience. Our courses are either one-day (Essentials), or for those that want a more formal qualification one of our four-day BTECs. FREIGHT FORWARDING ESSENTIALS A one-day course for those new to forwarding, designed to allow delegates to gain basic experience of the overall processes.
Trainer Focus: Claire Capaccioli Claire joined BIFA in September 2018 and is based in northwest England. Claire has a vast amount of freight forwarding and Customs experience gained during her career with Kintetsu World Express and Yusen Logistics, where she spent 20 years. Claire’s appointment followed the introduction of the International Freight Forwarding Specialist Apprenticeship standard which led to an increased demand for BIFA training courses. In her spare time, she is a keen traveller and is also a volunteer for industry charity Transaid.
BIFA utilises a network of Regional Consultants around the UK to act as a conduit for the dissemination of information and to seek local Member views on topics of interest.
