Brownsville Back To Action supportedWalk To End Alzheimer’s during the Kick Off Rally on the 28th of September 2016 at the Cobbleheads in Brownsville. This event paved the way to the upcoming walk on the 5th of November 2016 at the TSC grounds. We gave away Back To Action T-shirts, caps, umbrellas that were raffled off to guests. And best of all we’ve met wonderful people who support the cause of this event. We also participated in a fund raising program and donated to support Texas Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc., a Philippine -based movement whose aim is to end poverty for 5 million families, by first restoring the dignity of the poor. Donations go to the rebuilding of communities devastated by typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Gawad Kalinga, translated in English means “to give care”. http://www.gk1world.com/typhoon-yolanda Eagle Pass Eagle Pass continues to prepare for Candles for Life through fund raising and are anxiously awaiting for October 22nd for all the fun filled festivities. Harlingen On September 16th, 2016, Back To Action in Harlingen donated eight bags of shredded paper to the National Humane Society. This was used to line the kennels for the animals and serves as insulation and bedding. It is also used for kitty litter boxes. The National Humane Society is the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organization. We also had a student observer with us for most of the month. We would like to wish Cindy the best with her future endeavors.
