Woodford Manor Aged Care Summer Newsletter 2026

Message from Clinical Care Kerrie

Summer is over. The weather was very Queensland with lots of rain and humidity this year. I know that many of you have spent times outdoors this summer, and it’s been encouraging to see sunscreen being applied, hats worn, and drinks being offered. As the weather cools over Autumn,

it’s important not to forget to keep your hydration up. It can be easy to forget as we don’t feel as thirsty when the weather cools down. Staff are available to make you a drink, Lee has a variety of hot drinks during Coffee in the Cafe and I’m sure lifestyle will have some surprises in the next few months with their theme days. Clinically, the next few months are busy. We have Healthcare2you coming to the home with their optometrist to conduct their yearly eye checks. Please see your RN if you would like to ensure that you are on the list. Mobility Dental recently completed a dental clinic in the home. They will be back again - if you would like your teeth checked or you are having some issues, please see your RN or myself to get on the list. This is a fee for service, or you may qualify for a voucher through the Public Dental system. We completed our scheduled Covid clinic - well done to the 38 residents who had their jab and are now up to date with the Covid immunization. Michelle will be organizing another clinic in a few months for the next round of residents who will be due or would like to be immunized. We will also be running our yearly influenza clinic shortly. Michelle will be seeing everyone over the next few weeks to get consents, and we will advise the date when we have it. We encourage all residents to be immunized and Michelle is always available to discuss any questions you may have. My door is always open if you would like a chat or have any questions I can help you with, or you can ask a staff member and I can come down and see you. Kerrie Clinical Care Coordinator
