for the famine time. We will need a very smart man to look after the storing, and who will be better for the work than Joseph, for God is with him.” So Pharoah gave his ring to Joseph, put a gold chain round his neck, dressed him in fine clothes, put him to ride in the second finest chariot, and made every one bow their knee to him, so making Joseph ruler over all Egypt. When Joseph started his new work in Egypt, he was 30 years old, just the age Jesus was when He began to do His great work of saving the world from the curse of sin, as Joseph was saving it from starving. Here was Joseph, a ruler over all Egypt, whose brothers had tried to kill him. Away north in Canaan where those brothers lived, they had no grain when the famine came. Jacob sent them to Egypt to get grain, not knowing that Joseph was ruler there. Joseph knew his brothers at once, but they did not know him. They never dreamed it was Joseph they were dealing with. Joseph pretended they were spies, putting them in prison for three days. (Give details.) . Joseph told them they had to leave one brother in prison while they went home and brought Benjamin back with them. When they came home, telling Jacob all, he was very grieved. When their sacks were emptied, they found their money in the sacks, and they were all frightened. Jacob could not believe that the ruler would be good to them if they brought Benjamin back, for he did not know it was Joseph, but thought him a strange ruler. So he refused to let them go back. (Next Sunday we will hear the rest.) The brothers now were very sorry about their mean treatment of Joseph, and thought God was punishing them for it. FREE CORRESPONDENCE STUDIES For the purpose of acquainting people with the work ings of the Bible Correspondence Courses, our Correspond ence School Department is offering a number of sample lessons free to any who will send two cents postage for the material. It is hoped that many will be lead to take up correspondence work when they learn how fascinating and helpful is the method. The Correspondence School has a limited number of les sons on the following topics and those interested will kindly designate which of the studies they prefer. It would be well to designate a second and third choice in case the sup ply of some study should be exhausted. 1. Sanctification. 2. Satan. 3. The Holy Spirit. 4. Son- ship of the Believer. 5. New Birth. 6. Justification. 7. Second Coming of Christ. 8. The Atonement. 9. Ascen sion of Christ. 10. Resurrection of Christ. The above are from Dr. R. A. Torrey’s course on Funda mental Doctrines. We also have two lessons taken from Rev. T. C. Horton’s course on Practical Christian Work. 1. Mormonism and Russellism refuted. 2. Christian Sci ence, Theosophy, and Spiritualism refuted. A circular describing our eight Correspondence Courses will be sent with the lessons. Address your request to Keith L. Brooks, Secretary of the Correspondence School, 536 South Hope St., Los Angeles, California. Pharoah called his wise men to tell the meaning of the dreams but they could not. Then the butler remembered Joseph, and told the king about him. So Joseph was sent for. The dreams were told him. Joseph said God sent the dreams, and God would give him their meaning. God gave the meaning to Joseph for the king. (Give details.) The king realized God was with Joseph, and believed what Joseph said the dreams meant. “Now,” said he, “in the seven years of plenty, we will lay up stores of grain seven fat cows came out the river, and were feeding near, when seven lean ones followed, and the lean ones 'ate up the fat cows. Then he dreamed that seven fine ears of corn grew on a stalk, and after them came seven poor, thin ears, and they ate up the fat ears.
