constructed through a Power Purchasing Agreement with Ameresco and are anticipated to be cost neutral for the district. As of FY25, NPS has established a new Green Team Captain leadership stipend; there is currently at least one Green Team Captain at every school, whose role is focused on supporting sustainability initiatives and a student green team. The first year of these stipends in FY25 is funded through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP) grant funds that come through the Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Sustainable Materials Management Department. Revenue generated by the Helpsy Textile Collection bins located at the schools will fund the stipends in the following years.

Notable Capital Improvement Projects

Lincoln-Eliot Elementary at 150 Jackson Road 1

A renovation and new addition project at 150 Jackson Road are currently under construction. The project is expected to be complete for the start of school in September 2025. This will be the district’s second all electric building. The project to meet the needs of the Lincoln-Eliot School, including facility and site improvements and accessibility, needed playground, and field space. Budgeted to cost $47 million with funding sources from Bonding/ARPA.

Countryside Elementary School Project 2

The Countryside School project is currently in the feasibility design phase in partnership with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, MSBA. The School Committee just recently voted to approve the educational program and space summary. We anticipate starting construction in the summer of 2025 and completing construction in the summer of 2027. The project is budgeted to cost $61 million with funding sources from MSBA/ARPA.
