Badgemore Anniversary Book

Course It’s all about the quality of playing surfaces for the greenkeeping team. To produce a course in excellent condition throughout the different seasons is no easy task – and needs a dedicated team to carry out the never-ending graft. Fortunately, the team of six, headed by course manager Lindsay Anderson, have a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for this critical role. Lindsay has been at the club for 31 years and has been integral to most of the course improvements. Deputy course manager is Paul Simpson, who joined the team from Winter Hill golf club in 2021, and brings his experience to support Lindsay and guide the rest of the team. Together, along with Mark Willis the club’s gardener, the team works through all the challenges the British weather has to offer to maintain and enhance course condition and reputation, and the clubhouse surrounds for member and guest enjoyment. Gym In 2018, the club opened FOCUS its boutique gym. Now, with over 250 members, the gym is superbly led by gym manager Jules Greenaway. With his professionalism and infectious enthusiasm, he is an invaluable member of the fitness team. Jules is well-supported by Ollie Hilton, a personal trainer and member of the gym operations team who started out working in the pro shop. In 2021, Ollie moved full-time into his gym operations role and regularly showcases his knowledge through fitness classes and PT sessions. Completing the gym team is Laura Farey. A self-employed personal trainer and class instructor, Laura brings a huge amount of character and professionalism to the team. Front of house and catering The excellent food offering at Badgemore Park is thanks to head chef, Rabin Shrestha, and his five-strong team. Rabin

(popularly known as Robbie) and his fellow chefs work tirelessly to provide delicious dishes to visitors that come into the Coach House. From casual lunches to sit-down wedding breakfasts, the variety and quality of food Robbie and his brigade of five produce is always outstanding. The front of house team is led by front of house manager Joel Hayes and his assistant, Peter Papai, who along with their team provide a warm and charming welcome to all the Coach House customers. Back of house and accounts Head housekeeper, Ines Gomes, heads up a team of three who are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness standards across the three buildings on-site as well as all housekeeping requirements for the eight bed & breakfast bedrooms located within Garden Cottage. Badgemore House is home to several office tenants who are well looked after by Julie Bottomley, receptionist, in what is now her second spell at Badgemore Park. Julie also assists our accounts manager, Shawn Huggins, who not only works tirelessly behind the scenes but was always a popular figure at the club alongside her late dog, Duma. Following the pandemic, Shawn now mostly works from home with her new puppy, Goose. She remains an integral cog to the Badgemore Park wheel. 2022 has seen the Badgemore Park team expand further. Eoin and Tracy Livingstone will be joining the club following the 2019 retirement of Eric and Janet Nott after over 20 years of service as maintenance engineer and housekeeper. The legacy of Eric will, of course, continue with the 10th hole being named after one of the many anecdotes he has contributed to the history of Badgemore Park. Eoin, a big character around the club, joined to head up the maintenance team with his wife, Tracy, providing valuable assistance across a number of departments.
