CLUB REDEVELOPMENT
If you have something that is good, you can either rest on your laurels and reap the benefits or strive for further improvement to create and maintain both desirability and a competitive edge. Jon Connell and the Badgemore Park management team decided that the latter option was the right one to pursue! In 2017, and with an eye on the club’s golden anniversary in 2022, a five-year rolling improvement plan was put in place. To make a modern golf club economically viable, it must attract and engage people both on and off the course. To this extent, the five-year plan covered both the golf course and the clubhouse and surrounds. To provide for the holistic needs of members, a modern golf club must provide for body, mind, and spirit. Physical and mental wellbeing must be equally catered for – and this is a vital element of the plan. The desire to improve is never satisfied and in the period from 2017 to 2022 the club has continually improved the facilities and services on offer. The improvements focus on five key areas:

with the times but committed to retaining the best traditions that the wonderful game of golf offers.

enhancement over the five-year period. A converted former coach house with stables, the interior of the clubhouse now reflects modern needs – it’s welcoming, comfortable, and operationally efficient. All areas have been steadily upgraded and the aim is to continue to grow the reputation the club now enjoys as an excellent hospitality venue for member and visitor events, lunches, dinners, and functions.
