Supporting charitable causes is a fundamental part of the DNA of Badgemore Park
Katy Plater MBE Cystic Fibrosis Trust Badgemore member and cystic fibrosis sufferer Katy embarked on a major awareness and fundraising effort spanning the years from 1986 – 1999. Katy was awarded the MBE for her many initiatives and also received the Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year award
Each of the captains hosts events during their captain’s year to raise funds for their chosen charity – always charities to which they had or have a strong personal connection. Over the years, significant sums have been raised. Other members have also focused their charitable efforts around the club, participating in national events such as ‘The Longest Day’ challenge. Here’s a look at some charities and events we’ve supported. The Longest Day Dave Haddock did the Longest Day challenge during his year as captain in 2017 for the Chiltern Centre. Adrian Whyles did the same in 2021, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
