3. Multiple target zones

4. Sidetrack
Many times, a well – when drilled – will be in a formation that depletes quickly. Operators will use sidetracking to drill into another productive formation without the need to drill a new well. Sidetracking is also used to bypass a damaged wellbore, saving time and money.
