The next chart shows the U.S. Producer Price Index of Nitrogen Fertilizer since 2012. As you can see, prices have fallen from their high of more than $470 per ton to $282 per ton in 2017. The last time prices were this low was 2010.
From 2000 to 2013, worldwide fertilizer use grew 30% from 140 million tons to 182 million tons.
