EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS ADVANCEMENTS NEW

Stephanie & Kevin Merriweather FLORIDA A Safe Place to Call Home

But a steady approach from Executive Directors 9 Heather and Alan Guzzino helped them see that Melaleuca was a place to build a business to last a lifetime. The Guzzinos were sincere in sharing their love of the products and their belief that Melaleuca is a safe place to call home. They took the time to build a relationship of trust with Kevin and Stephanie. A year after their initial approach, Kevin reached out to learn more and decided to enroll. Kevin advanced to Senior Director quickly, “but we were doing lots of things wrong,” he says. He remembers enrolling customers, not getting their orders placed, and watching retention suffer. That’s when the Merriweathers took their hands off the plow and opened a kiosk in the mall—taking a break from actively building their business for six months. Kevin found a renewed focus and determination when longtime friend and Corporate Director 4 Jefferson Green reached out to him. His message to Kevin was simple: “I know you can do this, and there’s just too much on the table.” Since Kevin renewed his commitment to his business, he has been amazed by the progress and growth in himself and his team. He’s discovered that true leadership is about setting an example by being the first to do what he’s asking his team to do. “You better believe we’re not taking our hands off the plow anymore,” Kevin says. “We’re rolling full steam ahead. This is my full focus.” MW

Stephanie and Kevin Merriweather have discovered that their highest priority in life is time freedom—the power to be a full-time family. After spending 20 years as a UPS driver, watching an MLM business crumble underneath him, and operating a mall kiosk that completely consumed his time, Kevin has finally found that freedom through Melaleuca. “The idea of a full-time family is what we wanted years ago,” Kevin says. When he owned a mall kiosk, the hours were grueling: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week with no vacation or holidays. These days, Kevin sees much more of his 12-year-old twin boys and two grandsons than ever before. “Since I’ve been serious about building my Melaleuca business, I can be home,” he says. “My boys are out of school for the summer, and now the only question is, ‘What quality time are we going to have with the boys today?’” The Merriweathers’ journey to Melaleuca took time, friendship, and persistence. “We were approached on several occasions with the opportunity to take a look at Melaleuca, and we were just not interested,” Kevin says. They had to be convinced that Melaleuca was truly as good as it seemed. “We had been in the industry of direct sales for a while,” he says. “It was a bottle rocket. We went up, but we came down faster than we had climbed. It’s scary to be burned by an MLM company.”

“We are excited to find a safe, long-term place to call home,” Kevin says. “For three years, we watched Melaleuca and thought, ‘There’s no way this can be as good as everyone says.’ But you have to experience it for yourself: it’s different here, and it’s getting better every day.”
