Executive Director 3 Jennifer Becker couldn’t have picked a better time to introduce Dana to Melaleuca. “It was perfect timing,” Dana explains. “I was facing health issues, so I couldn’t really go back to work full time, and we were looking to remove toxins from our home due to my son’s asthma.” With Melaleuca, Dana found not only the toxin-free products she was looking for but an opportunity to help provide for her family doing something she loved. “I had loved being a personal trainer—I loved helping people get healthy,” Dana explains. “With Melaleuca, I haven’t lost anything. I’m just helping people in a different way.” And while Dana loves what she does, that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. “I’m not an extrovert, so getting out, talking to people, and being a leader has been completely outside
my comfort zone,” she says. “But Jennifer believed in me long before I believed in myself, so that pushed me. My team is trusting me and wanting me to lead them. I know I can’t ask them to do anything that I’m not doing myself, so that constantly pushes me outside my comfort zone.” While her Melaleuca journey is far from over, Dana has already seen an incredible change in her family. “Before Melaleuca, we were living paycheck to paycheck,” Dana explains. “That was a decision we made because I wanted to be around for my kids, but if my husband bought a soda at work, it would literally mess up our finances. Melaleuca has just given us so much freedom.” For the Wikoffs that freedom has meant being able to say yes to karate lessons and friends’ birthday parties, but it’s also meant
a lot more. “For the first time since we’ve had kids, my husband is now able to be home to tuck the kids in every single night,” Dana says. “Their whole life he has been working and going to medical school, so he has missed out on so much. He was able to quit his job in January, so he’s just going to school full time, and it’s amazing to see his relationship with the kids blossom!” It hasn’t always been easy, but consistency and accountability have kept her on track. “I’ve had a gazillion setbacks,” Dana says. “But the desire to succeed, the desire to get my kids a better life and to set an example for them and those I work with, that’s stronger than any setback!”
