Challenging yourself to continue to learn and be open to new ideas is a great way to stay ahead. Professional magazine is full of feature articles on innovation, technical updates, thought leadership, wellbeing and so much more. Ensuring you consume each issue is a great place to start with continuous professional development. Our Annual Conference and Exhibition (which we lovingly refer to as ‘ACE’) is another. The learning opportunities in workshops and plenary sessions are complemented by the exhibition floor, showcasing what’s available both now and in the future. Of course, the opportunity to grow
your network and learn from others is one of the greatest highlights. Pay professionals come together during the full conference programme, to gain insights from peers and listen to the experiences of others. On a personal level, I tend to use first thing in the morning as time to plan and prepare. I recognise this time is when I’m at my most productive, and although I’m happy to work later, I know that my most productive and creative work all happens during the early part of the day. When are you most productive, and what environment helps you to be at your best? Think about that, and please do share. I’d be delighted to hear from you, and I know that we all, as individuals, have so many different approaches. There isn’t a one- size-fits-all solution – only a philosophy of lifelong learning that keeps you ahead in the industry.
